JACKSON STREET BRIDGE

The Jackson Street Bridge project was selected for implementation by the Department of City Planning’s Placemaking Program.

The project includes the reconfiguration of the right-of-way along Jackson Street to create a safer and more vibrant space for people. The reorganization supports a new pedestrian area that extends beyond the sidewalk and incorporates interesting seating, raised planters with colorful plantings, ADA access, and possibly bike racks. The project will also include a protected cycle track creating a safer connection between the Freedom Parkway Trail and Baker-Highland Trail. The City is currently undergoing the permitting process and procuring a contractor to install the project.
