OPEN STREETS ATL
ABOUT Open Streets ATL is an outdoor celebration of the City’s culture and creative industries in a temporary, dedicated pedestrian-friendly zone. Held October 5, 2024 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 PM. on Nelson Street, SW between Forsyth Street and Ted Turner Drive, this event commemorates the collaboration of the City of Atlanta Department of City Planning with the Atlanta Design Festival.
Through transformed public spaces accessible to everyone, Open Streets ATL aims to showcase Atlanta as a hub for creativity and innovation and spur downtown development and community engagement. Additional community benefits include support for local schools, enhanced pedestrian and bike mobility, and new opportunities for cultural programming, the arts, historic preservation, and community building.
SCHEDULE
Scheduled programming will feature Mausiki Scales and the Common Ground Collective, DJ Toni K, interactive art, roller skating, yoga, a kid zone, sound meditation, an indie market, and food trucks
PARTNERS Open Streets ATL is a joint effort of the Department of City Planning Office of Design with support from Atlanta City Council Member Jason Dozier, Atlanta Indie Market, Atlanta Department of Transportation (ATLDOT), Atlanta Downtown Improvement District (ADID), Centennial Yards Company, CIM Group, South Downtown, and Cat Eye Creative.
